Not necessarily. Many children who have an early evaluation won't need treatment at this stage at all. It's simply a chance for us to keep an eye on how their teeth and jaw are developing.

Why start so early rather than waiting for braces?

Will my child still need braces later?

Possibly — interceptive treatment is often the first of two phases, with a second phase in the teenage years once all the permanent teeth are in place. But early treatment can make that second phase much more straightforward.

Is treatment uncomfortable for my child?
